Kirstin Robertson-Gillam  PhD
The aim of psychotherapy and counselling is to provide you with a confidential opportunity to explore your thoughts and feelings with a professional practitioner to assist your learning, self-awareness, healing, coping and psychological growth.  This process requires your commitment and honesty (both to yourself and to myself) and to have a genuine desire to affect a change in your life.

Appointment requests

I have appointments available for face-to-face, telephone or Skype webcam consultations.  I am located in the north-west of Sydney, Australia.

Please make your bookings by contacting me on mobile/sms 0409 533 466 (Phone 7 days) or by email at

Session payment is expected before each appointment.  Any changes to the session fees will be advised on this website and by email to existing clients.

I prefer to have the payment made through PayPal.  If this is not possible, payment can be made directly by electronic funds transfer into my business bank account.  Details of this account will be sent to you with confirmation of your appointment.

Alternatively, you can pay in cash for an in-person appointment.

Health fund rebates

Clients are required to pay me in full for each session.  You will be issued with a receipt which you can then take to your health fund to ascertain if you have cover for my services   --  this is your responsibility.

Cancellations must be made by phone or email at least 24 hours prior to a scheduled appointment to avoid a penalty.  Clients who fail to attend an appointment either in-person or by phone or by Skype webcam will be invoiced in full for that session and further sessions will be refused until that account is settled.

Information regarding consultation details will not be disclosed to third parties except where there is a perceived risk to your safety or that of another person, or where there is a legal requirement to do so.  I also attend professional supervision in relation to my casework but details of our discussions are de-identified.  All disclosures will be in accordance with the PACFA Code of Ethics.

Contact outside sessions

My telephone number and email address are available at all times to you for making appointments, notifying cancellations and following up on issues arising during sessions.  Often I cannot respond immediately due to being in a session with another client or at work at the university.

In an emergency, please contact your general practitioner, or '000', or the NSW Mental Health Line on 1800 011 511 (24 hours,
7 days), as appropriate.

Liability and responsibility

My psychotherapy services are offered in good faith in accordance with what you tell me and my professional judgment.  However, I do not accept any liability or responsibility for any consequences of your use of my services --  either beneficial or otherwise.  Your use of my advice or information provided during sessions, or your interpretation of what occurred in such sessions or any affect on you or others which you attribute to such sessions, is your responsibility alone.  Psychotherapy can sometimes be an intense experience.
